Jason Caple is the sole proprietor and Principle Marine Surveyor at Broadwater Marine. For more than 30 years he has been active in all facets of the marine industry from refit and repair, on board operational engineering, safety management and marine surveying, usually all at once.

 

In 2011, Jason completed his Diploma with Merit in Marine Surveying at the University of Middlesex in England while actively serving as Chief Engineer on board the 38-meter Coda Casa power vessel Paola, and from this point onwards he strived to play an active part as liaison for the classification survey contingent for ABS and Lloyds Classification Societies for Superyachts based in Palma, Mallorca. It was during this period that he was headhunted by Al Seer Marine Supplies & Equipment Co P.J.S.C. in Abu Dhabi to write and implement the Safety Management System manuals for the Crown Prince Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan superyachts, MV Rabdan (72m), MV Ecstasea (85m) and MV Pelorus (115m) and completing his studies with Lloyds Register for Ship Internal Auditing and International Ship & Port State Code control. After this project was completed, he moved to Canada to start his own journey in Marine Surveying starting Broadwater Marine while being involved with the design and construction of logging operations vessels and logging vessel refit and repair at Drop Marine and completing his Certificate of Class Surveying through Lloyds Maritime Institute.

 

Jason is currently is the secretary committee member for the International Institute of Marine Surveys Canada Branch (IIMS Canada) and serves on several American Boat and Yacht Council (ABYC) Project Technical Committees serving as best he can for the betterment of the worldwide marine community.
